At Glee’s opening on Sunday John Stanley and Edwin Meijer, MD of Garden Connect, handed over the first copy of their guide “10 tips to drive customers to your garden centre via the internet” to Carol Paris of the HTA.
John Stanley was the kick-off of the well visited Knowledge Hub at GLEE this year. Before his first seminar he took a few minutes to explain why he and Edwin teamed up to write this guide: “The internet is changing the way garden retailers should work and it’s time to act. The time of waiting is behind us and this guide will help you to get some inspiration and make it happen!”.
The HTA is stimulating garden retailers to go online and get in touch with their customers as well. Recently a successful training workshop has been given by Edwin Meijer, on behalf of the HTA, about social media in Scotland.
“I’ve been around in the garden retail industry for over 10 years and it’s time to move forward. Some garden centres understand how the consumers are changing but most of them are still struggling. This guide is practical, easy to understand and should put retailers on the right track.” concludes Edwin Meijer.
