Unboxing video: how 6 retailers ship plants!

More and more consumers are buying their plants online. In 2020 alone, 27% of British consumers bought plants online and this trend has continued in 2021. Whereas buying plants online is easy and quick, selling them over the Internet is quite a challenge. Especially packing and shipping is a stumbling block for many retailers in the garden retail industry.

Just like them, we were wondering what the best way to go about this is. That is why we did a fun experiment.

Over the past few weeks, we have bought plants from six Dutch webshops to see how they were shipped plants to the Garden Connect office in Zwanenburg. We made an unboxing video of the unpacking, showing all the ins and outs. Check it out below:

Buy shipping packaging for plants

Now the question is: where can you buy these boxes? To help you, we have contacted suppliers of packaging solutions. The suppliers who we think can supply the most complete range are Click-Pax and Broekhof.

Click-Pax is a supplier of modular plant packaging, which focuses on sustainable materials and safety. The unique click system makes the use of plastic unnecessary and ensures a fast and efficient way to pack. The boxes offer room for several plants and you can be sure that each plant will arrive safely at its destination. The catalogue of Click-Pax is available here.

Broekhof is a well-known supplier in the sector that, in collaboration with Paardekooper, offers high-quality shipping packaging for all types and sizes of plants. The brochure with the complete range can be viewed here. As you will see, the packaging from the range corresponds to some of the plants in the video that arrived in good condition.
