Nowadays consumers do expect you to have an up to date website and online presence. However, most garden retailers struggle to keep their websites alive: weekly news items? Gardening tips? There’s plenty to do around your garden centre and your website might not be where it should be: on top of your priority list! Garden Connect solves this issue and keeps your website up to date – even if you don’t have to look after it.
Garden Connect is providing websites to over 150 garden centres. “All our websites have a bespoke design, as each garden centres has got its own identity.” Explains Tina Patel, relationship manager of the Luton based company. “After the garden centre approved the design we add our advanced content management system, as it’s important to be able to edit the website yourself. We’ve got over 250 people using it every day and does have everything a garden centre needs.”
Once this is sorted Garden Connect will start updating the website: “We do have a lot of texts available, like product range information and gardening tips. This information is non-branded and can be changed instantly. It helps garden centres to add more relevant information as it’s easier to change something than writing something new.” On top of that Garden Connect also provides gardening news: “We publish news items like what to do this month or inspirational tips. These items are send two weeks in advance, so garden centres can change these items or remove them if they don’t apply to them. If you don’t sell ponds, you’ll never get information about ponds on your website. We supply about three news items a week and also have a daily gardening tip and Plant of the Week information. With so much information the website is for sure always up to date!” explains Tina Patel.
How does Garden Connect Work? “We provide an all-inclusive solution for just £100 per month. That includes the design, updates, content, support, hosting, a responsive and mobile friendly design, search engine friendly technique and a lot more. On top of that we offer a three month notice since we’re confident garden centres will be pleased by our services, so there’s no reason to thigh someone into a long term contract!”
