Garden Connect launches reviews on webshops

Over two thirds of  consumers will buy a product sooner if there are positive reviews from other consumers visible. Collecting genuine reviews takes a long time, especially for independent garden centres with a focus on their local area. Garden Connect offers webshops the ideal solution to get this job done!

“If you look at the big price comparison sites like Pricerunner or even at Amazon, a lot of gardening products don’t have relevant reviews, while it’s well known reviews help consumers to make purchase decisions.” explains Edwin Meijer of Garden Connect. “For the majority of the webshops it’s impossible to collect a relevant number of reviews since they are simply too small to make that happen. However, the information is vital for online customers nowadays, so it seems a good idea to solve this issue.”

Garden Connect implemented their review service on over 25 webshops and the number is still counting: “It doesn’t really matter if someone from Yorkshire or Dorset is writing a review about a barbecue. It’s still the same barbecue. We manually check all the reviews of products before they are published on the websites of garden centres. We collect these reviews and they are shared among all users of the webshops who opted in for it. This allows them to generate much more relevant reviews in a shorter term which helps their customers to make a better purchase decision.”

Reviews are also available on the smartphone apps for garden centres, developed by Garden Connect. The first trials are live: “Consumers can scan QR codes in the stores, shown by individual products. This will give them more details on the product and, more important, relevant reviews. This helps them to make an instant decision about a purchase. Since the app is published by the garden centre there is no price comparison. Over 55% admit a positive review stimulates them to buy a product so this should have a positive influence on the shopping process in centres.”

NB. Only garden centres with a webshop from Garden Connect can benefit from this option – free of charge.
