Since may garden retailers are still struggling to get their social media accounts up & running, the workshop also covered lots of practical how-to's, like:
- How to setup a gated fanpage?
- How to get a proper social media presence?
- How to engage with your customers and add brand value?
All delegates were very pleased about the huge amount of information and practical tips. A few of the responses received after the workshop:
"I thought it was a hugely engaging and informative session. I was a little concerned at the beginning of the day, once we saw the huge difference in knowledge and experience in the room, that you may lose half the audience by pitching the day too low or too high; I was delighted to see that you managed to engage all of the room, focusing on more basic functions when necessary as well as show others the higher levels of analytics that could be obtained! I have come away inspired and ready to make my business Facebook page much more engaging! I will have to give Twitter a little more consideration!"
"Thanks again for the workshop. Although we are not predominantly a garden centre, the overall principles were useful and definitely came away with some ideas to improve our pages."
The HTA and Garden Connect are considering to schedule more workshops in other areas of the UK later this year. Follow us at @gardenretail or keep an eye on the HTA website for more information.
